Our Story
It all started in 2008 when our founder, David Kinbor, was searching for a new nightstand. Frustrated by the lack of options, David decided to design and build his own. Using his background in fine woodworking, he crafted a nightstand that perfectly suited his needs and style.
When friends and family saw David’s nightstand, they asked if he could make ones for them too. The demand grew rapidly, and Kinbor® was born. We started out handcrafting a small selection of solid wood nightstands and dressers in our San Diego workshop.
Over the years, we expanded our expertise into crafting other living room, bedroom, and outdoor furniture pieces. As our product line grew, so did our team of skilled designers and artisans. Today we offer a wide range of contemporary, mid-century modern, industrial, and classic furnishings to suit any home aesthetic.

Our Workshop
We design and handcraft all of our furnishings in San Diego, California. Our 12,000 square foot workshop allows us to oversee every step of the furniture making process. Here’s a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes:

- Master Woodworking – Our skilled craftsmen cut, join, sand and shape the wood into furniture components using precision techniques. Mortise and tenon joinery and dovetail joints add strength and style.
- Finishing Touches – Artisans apply multi-step finishes to protect the natural beauty of the wood while enhancing grain patterns and color. Non-toxic stains, paints and topcoats are used.
- Quality Control – At each stage of production, furnishings are inspected to ensure they meet our strict standards for quality craftsmanship. We reject any component that fails to pass checks.
- Custom Options – Optional customization like unique stain colors, fabrics, sizes and distressing allow us to build pieces tailored to your space and style.
